Online Editor, Voiceworks Magazine August 2019 Present

Voiceworks is a national quarterly literary journal established in 1985. As an Editor at Voiceworks Online, I specialise in the production of digital literature (e.g. interactive fiction, auto-generated poetry, code and visual art). I review and score submissions for each publication round, undertake month-long editing processes with selected writers, collaborate with Editors from Voiceworks’ print and online platforms and provide feedback to all unsuccessful writers. I also work with the Voiceworks Online team to organise digital and in-person launch events, and I assist the print team with their selection processes. In my time at Voiceworks, I have been invited to speak at a number of events such as the Emerging Writers Festival, Freeplay Festival and high school literary seminars.

Talkbox was a series of eleven spoken word nights hosted by Classic Cinemas Elsternwick and facilitated by South of the City. As the Director of Talbox I curated, emceed, and ticketed three seasons of spoken word events with poets, visual artists and other spoken-word performers. The role involved big-picture planning, on-the-go troubleshooting and liaising with performers, cinema technicians, bar staff, and representatives from South of the City, Melbourne Spoken Word and Classic Cinemas. Ahead of our second season, I reached out to previous performers for poetry submissions, then I produced, edited, published and launched a Talkbox zine.

Director of Communications / Campaigns Copywriter, Oaktree August 2018 September 2019

Within a year of my induction as Oaktree’s Copywriter in August 2018, I was promoted to Deputy Director of Communications and then to Director of Communications. As a Copywriter, I wrote and edited copy for Oaktree's social media and email campaigns. I also worked with the Campaigns team to generate ideas for compelling communications material and identify opportunities for strong social media communications. In my Director role, I wrote, edited, and sent emails to a database of 400,000 supporters.
